Sheet metal processing is called sheet metal processing. Specifically, for example, chimneys, iron drums, oil tanks, ventilation pipes, elbow size heads, round places, funnel shapes, etc. are made of plates. The main processes include shearing, bending and buckling edges, bending and forming, welding, riveting, etc., which require certain geometric knowledge. Sheet metal parts are thin plate hardware, that is, parts that can be processed by stamping, bending, stretching and other means. A general definition is a part with constant thickness during processing. Corresponding is the casting parts, forging parts, machining parts and so on.
Material selection
The materials commonly used in sheet metal processing include cold rolled plate (SPCC), hot rolled plate (SHCC), galvanized plate (SECC, SGCC), copper (CU) brass, red copper, beryllium copper, aluminum plate (6061, 5052, 1010, 1060, 6063, hard aluminum, etc.), aluminum profile, stainless steel (mirror, wire drawing surface, fog surface). Different materials are selected according to different functions of products, generally, it is necessary to consider the use and cost of the product.
(1) cold rolled plate SPCC, mainly with electroplating and paint parts, low cost, easy to shape, material thickness ≤ 3.2mm.
(2) Hot rolled plate SHCC, material T ≥ 3.0mm, is also electroplated and painted parts, which is low in cost but difficult to form, mainly flat parts.
(3) Galvanized sheet SECC, SGCC. SECC electrolytic plate is divided into N material and P material. N material is mainly not treated with surface treatment and has high cost. P material is used for spraying parts.
(4) copper; mainly with conductive material, its surface treatment is nickel plating, chrome plating, or no treatment, high cost.
(5) Aluminum plate; generally use surface chromate (J11-A), oxidation (conductive oxidation, chemical oxidation), high cost, silver plating, nickel plating.
(6) aluminum profiles; cross-sectional structure of complex materials, a large number of used in a variety of boxes. Surface treatment with aluminum plate.
(7) stainless steel; mainly used without any surface treatment, high cost.
Commonly used materials
Galvanized steel sheet SECC
The substrate of SECC is a common cold-rolled steel coil, which becomes an electro-galvanized product after degreasing, pickling, electroplating and various post-treatment processes in the continuous electro-galvanized production line. SECC not only has the mechanical properties and approximate workability of general cold-rolled steel sheets, but also has excellent corrosion resistance and decorative appearance. In the electronic products, home appliances and furniture market has a great competitive and alternative. For example, computer chassis is commonly used in SECC.
Ordinary cold rolled sheet SPCC
SPCC refers to the steel ingot through the cold rolling mill continuously rolled into the required thickness of the steel plate coil or sheet. SPCC surface without any protection, exposed to the air is very easy to be oxidized, especially in a humid environment, the oxidation rate is accelerated, dark red rust, in the use of the surface to paint, electroplating or other protection.
Hot-dip galvanized steel sheet SGCC
Hot-dip galvanized steel coil refers to the semi-finished products after hot-rolled, pickled or cold-rolled, cleaned, annealed, immersed in a molten zinc bath with a temperature of about 460°C, so that the steel sheet is plated with a zinc layer, and then tempered and leveled and chemically treated. SGCC material is harder than SECC material, poor ductility (avoid deep drawing design), thicker zinc layer and poor electric weldability.
Stainless steel SUS304
One of the most widely used stainless steel, because of containing Ni (nickel), it is richer than Cr (chromium) steel corrosion resistance, heat resistance, has very good mechanical properties, no heat treatment hardening phenomenon, no elasticity.
Stainless steel SUS301
The content of Cr (chromium) is lower than that of SUS304, and the corrosion resistance is poor, but after cold working, it can obtain good tensile force and hardness in stamping processing, and has good elasticity. It is mostly used for elastic spring and EMI prevention.
